Our story

A cup of something that feels like home.

We are a lifelong group of friends with one thing in common: a shared first-generation immigrant experience growing up in Australia.

We always wondered what ties us to an Australian identity. The answer was in front of us all along: the ritual of connecting over a cup of coffee or tea.

To honour that tradition, we brew a new drink from a humble native ingredient that captures the Australian spirit: the wattle seed. Caffeine-free, nutritious and rich in flavour.

Why wattle?

Australia's national floral emblem.

A symbol of regeneration, resilience and unity.

Naturally caffeine-free.

The wattle seed

Forged by fire and drought.

The wattle's invisible armour protects its core until the rains bring new life.

Resilience

A tough seed coat works like armour, letting wattle survive the harshest droughts and bushfires without losing its core.

Regeneration

Even when the parent plant is destroyed by fire, its seeds wait in the soil and sprout with the first rains.

Unity

Wattles grow in every state, territory and ecosystem across the continent: a shared symbol, whatever our backgrounds.

The roast

Wattle seed isn't coffee.

Roast it and it opens like coffee: a familiar aroma, a sweet spice with an undercurrent of chocolate, deeply nutty and faintly bitter.

Change the species, the temperature or the minute you pull it, and you have something else entirely. We craft precise roasting profiles, batch after batch, to bring you our signature Wattle collection.

The origin

Five engineers and a lawyer. None of us are farmers.

We met as children in Perth. Our parents were friends, and we grew up in each other's houses on cups of coffee and pots of tea.

Our shared love of a perfect brew led us to a caffeine-free ancient seed that's rich in flavour, good for the land and nutritious.
